Seems like we’re going back to “real”. Curvy women, separated teeth look fashionable nowadays. Big fashion names, the movie industry and other entities of massive influence are starting to realize that we, the people, still have our feet on the ground, and we don’t need anyone to tell us what is perfection and what is not. We don’t dislike these canons, but we are able to see beauty far beyond.
I’d like to believe that, in a near future, no one will ever feel that horrible pressure of being some kind of perfect version of themselves. Then, when that day comes, we’ll be on the way to self acceptance.
This image was such a challenge for me, mostly because of the heavy postproduction that needed to be done. But, in the end, and thanks to the amazing team I worked with for long hours, the result was exactly what I imagined! :) We finished very late at night, and after the shoot I couldn't go to sleep... so I stayed awake editing until 4am! I'm a proper Photoshop addict :P
Here you can see a couple more of the final photos from this day, portraits of the beautiful Kiera-Rose. And I never ever show my pictures until they're finished, but... what the hell, this one deserves a Before/After!

Parece que estamos, poco a poco, volviendo a lo "real". La última moda es tener los dientes separados, y es sexy tener curvas. Las grandes marcas de moda internacional, la industria del cine, la televisión y otras entidades de infuencia masiva parecen estar dándose cuenta de que la sociedad no necesita que se le imponga un ideal de belleza inalcanzable. Tenemos los pies en la tierra, y podemos ver más allá de esos cánones, independientemente de que nos gusten o no.
Me gustaría pensar que en un futuro no muy lejano nadie tendrá que sufrir esa horrible presión de ser una versión perfecta de sí mismo. Cuando llegue ese día, estaremos por fin en el camino de la auto aceptación.
Esta foto ha sido todo un desafío para mí, sobre todo por la cantidad de horas de edición que iba a necesitar. Pero, al final, y gracias también al fantástico equipo con el que tuve la suerte de trabajar, ¡el resultado final es exactamente el que tenía en mente! :) Esa noche terminamos muy tarde con la sesión, pero después no podía irme a dormir... así que me quedé editando hasta las 4 de la mañana... como una auténtica adicta :P

Nunca jamás enseño mis fotos hasta que están terminadas, pero hoy haré una excepción, creo que ésta se merece un Antes/Después. :)
